1.     Social Care

The rural communities from this area are all very affected by the economic context and have very limited resources to cover their basic needs, frequently needing financial support for health, housing, education, and other living costs. Several requests come to our attention every month, anda lot of families live in chronic situations.  During this period of time we continued to support families and people in need from these communities, with material and financial support and advice and information.

2.     The Health Promotion Campaign

3.

The campaign has been suspended at the end of the school year, and will be resumed in September, for the next school year. The feedback we have received on implementing this activity had been very successful, both from teachers and children, who were pleased with the information transmitted and the interactive and engaging sessions.

3.      The Mobile Pharmacy

Despite the intention to close this service, due to the lack of alternatives for the people in these communities, it was decided that the Mobile pharmacy will continue to provide prescription medicines. The working itinerary has suffered some changes, as there has been a new pharmaceutical unit opened in Stanisesti, so this location was replaced with another poor community, Colonesti.

4.      Community Transport

The service continues in accordance with the schedule. There have been several journeys for the beneficiaries in difficult situations, and in some occasions it was necessary for the vans to be on the road very early in the morning or return late in the evening back to their locations.

A significant number of the beneficiaries are people in need of specialised health services.

5.      The Motoseni  Community Centre

The Grand Opening of the Centre scheduled to conclude this period, reunites several representatives of the local and county authorities, institutions and NGOs. It has been a strenuous task in overcoming all the beaurocratic and financial challenges of this endeavour, but so far it appears it is well worth it. Even before the official opening, the youth from this part of the community get together here to have preparations and training for high school admission, under the guidance of FSC and local staff.

The centre has already opened its doors for some of our youngest beneficiaries, who are all looking forward to the centre starting its activity, as it will provide a wide variety of services (the GP surgery, office for the Home Care for the elderly team and the new FSC Club with Glue.

6.      Mother and Baby Corners

We now have seven locations opened in Tatarasti, Parincea, Podu Turcului, Huruiesti , Gaiceana, Stanisesti, Motoseni, Glavanesti.

The specialists of the organisation have held sessions for the mother in each location, with the support of the local staff. For each session, the participants benefited from treats (cakes and beverages) and a few supplies (diapers and wet tissues). On each occasion, the participants were very interested to learn new information and advice, but also to share their own experience. The paediatrician has visited each location, both with general advice for parents, but also offering free check- ups to the children. The consultations were supported by the local GPs, who in most locations provided their surgery as venue for these checkups. The paediatrician was most impressed with the mothers from Tatarasti, where she felt  they  took on board all the information given and also followed her recommendations for hospital and brought all the children referred for admission.

All the parents gave very positive feedback to these sessions.
