Floods in Romania

BBC News: Floods leave at least twenty people dead following
days of torrential rain in Romania.
After
weeks of bad weather recent storms have led to thousands
of people being evacuated from their homes.

Flood water has risen to three meters in some places.
Many roads have been
closed and entire areas have been left without electricity
or gas.

Bacau county in North East Romania / Moldavia is
among those with serious problems. To

We fund several projects helping children, sick and elderly in Bacau
where there was serious flooding.
Our partners FSC are at the
centre of the relief effort
"We have decided to launch the "AmCham
Cares" campaign in which we've made available out of our small
budget the amount of 5,000 Euros to help the people in the Bacau
area. There we will work with Habitat for Humanity and Fundatia
de Sprijin Comunitar (FSC) both having operations in Bacau
county and being affiliated with us."

Romania is under water. Moldova is almost devastated.
Words are futile; the pictures say everything Tears,
pain. And
little hope
It’s the moment when hundreds of thousands of
suffering
people need help more than ever. And the rest of us,
millions of (more fortunate) unknown people, have the
duty to be united with the unfortunates.
Romania has reached its limits of resistance!!
Fundatia de Sprijin Comunitar (a non-profit organization
of public
utility operating in Bacau, Romania) makes an appeal
to all those
that wish to help the ministries from Bacau county (one
of the most
affected county in the last days) to donate money in
our organization’s accounts:

Together with the Prefecture of Bacau county - the
mayors office - and other institutions and organizations
in charge, we will direct the money to the most needed
areas and communities.
We will send to all those interested detailed reports
about how the money were used.
